The Trinity – The Idol of the Churches

An idol has been set up in the churches today. It is not an idol of gold or silver, of wood or stone. It is an idol enshrined in the hearts of men and women. It is a philosophical theory regarding God. Take a look at the following quote:

“IT IS AS EASY TO MAKE AN IDOL OF FALSE DOCTRINES AND THEORIES as to fashion an idol of wood or stone. Satan leads men to conceive of God in a false character, as having attributes which he does not possess. A PHILOSOPHICAL IDOL IS ENTHRONED IN THE PLACE OF JEHOVAH; WHILE THE TRUE GOD, as HE is revealed in HIS Word, in Christ, and in the works of creation, IS WORSHIPED BY BUT FEW. Thousands deify nature, while they deny the God of nature. Though in a different form, idolatry exists in the Christian world today as verily as it existed among ancient Israel in the days of Elijah. The god of many professedly wise men, of philosophers, poets, politicians, journalists,--the god of polished fashionable circles, of many colleges and universities, even of some theological institutions,--IS LITTLE BETTER THAN BAAL, THE SUN-GOD OF PHENICIA.” (Spirit of Prophecy, Vol.4, p.399)

The god of the “theological institutions”, from which virtually all of the church leaders today come from, is “LITTLE BETTER THAN BAAL, THE SUN GOD.”

Now pay careful attention to this next part from the above quote… “A philosophical idol is enthroned in the place of Jehovah; while THE TRUE GOD, AS HE is revealed in HIS word, in Christ, and in the works of creation, IS WORSHIPED BY BUT FEW.”

Did you catch that? … “the … TRUE GOD ... as HE … is revealed in … HIS word … and in Christ … IS WORSHIPED BY FEW.”

Who is the “TRUE GOD” revealed in HIS Word? Let us see:

John 17:1-3 ...'FATHER ... this is life eternal, that they might know THEE THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.'

1 Corinthians 8:4-6 ...'As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) but to us there is but ONE GOD, THE FATHER, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.'

1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 ...’For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and TRUE GOD; And to wait for HIS SON from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.’

1 John 5:20 ...’And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know HIM THAT IS TRUE, and we are in HIM that is true, even in HIS SON Jesus Christ. This is THE TRUE GOD, and eternal life.’

Acts 3:13 ...'The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified HIS SON Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.'

So who is the “TRUE GOD ... as revealed in HIS Word”?? Who is the "God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob"? It is THE FATHER. God the Father is the “only TRUE God” as revealed by Jesus Himself and the Word spoken through the apostles. There is not one verse that says the “trinity” is the true God. There is not one verse that says God is a “trinity” or God is “3 in 1” or “God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit”. NOT ONE VERSE! And yet virtually the whole of Christendom today worship this “philosophical idol” in place of JEHOVAH, and is “LITTLE BETTER THAN BAAL, THE SUN GOD.”

So what do we need to do? .... “The students in our schools are to consider the knowledge of God as above everything else. SEARCHING THE SCRIPTURES ALONE will bring the knowledge of THE TRUE GOD and Jesus Christ whom HE hath sent.” (Special Testimonies on Education," March 26, 1896)

Only through PERSONAL BIBLE STUDY will we find the TRUE GOD. Do not rely on the leaders who have been trained in Babylon’s theological colleges.

Please seek and worship the TRUE GOD as HE is revealed in HIS Word and in HIS Son Jesus. I pray ...”That THE GOD OF our Lord Jesus Christ, THE FATHER of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the KNOWLEDGE OF HIM.” (Ephesians 1:17)

It is time to put away our idols and turn to the “TRUE AND LIVING GOD”, as eternal life is based on “knowing the only true God [THE FATHER] and Jesus Christ” His Son (John 17:1-3).

"Our heavenly Father IS THE GOD OF THE UNIVERSE, and Christ is the divine Son, the One equal with the Father." (Ms49, 1906, par.26)

An idol cannot save you! Only the TRUE GOD can, through HIS Son.
