Pizza Base Ingredients using Bread Machine – makes 2 large crust or many mini crust:

1 1/3 Cup Whole wheat flour

1 1/3 cup unbleached white flour

2 Tbsp Vital Wheat gluten

1 tsp salt

1 ½ tsp mixed herb

2 Tbsp honey

2 Tbs Olive oil

1 Cup warm water

1 ½ tsp yeast

Method:

  1. Add honey, olive oil, warm water into the bread machine.

  2. Then add the whole wheat, white and gluten flour.  Lastly add the yeast.

  3. Close the lid and start the bread machine on dough mode only.

  4. Once the dough cycle is done, take the dough out and form into either 2 balls to make two large crusts or into many small balls to make mini pizza crust as I did.

  5. Grease your pizza pans with a little rice bran oil or dust with flour.

  6. Dust your work bench with some flour and flatten with hands (if making mini curst) or use a rolling pin (if making large crusts) and transfer to your greased pizza pans.

  7. Poke the centre of your crust with a few holes so that it won’t puff up and blind bake the crust for 10-15min at 190  ̊C or until the crust turn slightly golden and firm.  lease bear in mind that mini crusts will bake faster than larger crusts.

  8. When done take crust out and spread your tomato and bbq sauce over the top of each.

  9. Add your toppings and very lightly drizzle a little rice bran oil over the top of each.  This helps keep the pizzas from drying out.

  10. Dollop the vegan Mozzarella cheese over the top of each.  You will need to use your hands to help spread them out over your pizzas as they can get a little sticky.

  11. Depending on how salty your olives are and how many you use, you may not need to sprinkle extra salt over the top. Although I prefer to leave the salt out and let people sprinkle their own if extra is needed.

  12. Bake at 190-200  ̊C for 10mins or until cheese becomes slightly golden.

Alternatively, you can use premade pizza bases that can be purchased at your local supermarket.
