Pizza Cheeze Sauce
This sauce is super delicious that I always double the portion every time I make it.
Very handy to have on hand to top-up open grilled sandwiches and of cause pizza!
Ingredients:
1 Cup water
¼ cup Cashews
¼ cup almonds
¼ cup sunflower seeds
1 Tbsp tahini (ground roasted sesame seeds)
3 Tbsp savoury yeast (also called nutritional yeast)
2 tsp salt
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ cup lemon juice
1-2 tsp honey
2 Tbsp capsicum & eggplant spreed (or 1 red capsicum)
2.5 Tbsp Tapioca flour
Method:
-
Blend all ingredients together until super smooth. Will thicken more the longer you blend it.
-
Transfer mixture to a medium size saucepan and cook stirring constantly on med-high heat with a wisk for 7-10mins until thickened.
-
Drizzle over pizza or in toasted sandwiches.
Note: If you want to turn this into a slicing cheese, just mix 3 tsp of agar agar powder (or 3 Tbsp agar agar flakes) into 1 cup cold water for 5 mins and then bring to a boil for 1-2 minutes till dissolved and add to the already blended up mixture above. Blend for another 1-2 minutes or until well mixed and pour into square container to set. Keeps in fridge for 1 week.
