Righteousness by Faith - Part 2

Has The Law Been Abolished?

Before answering this question, it is necessary to first of all clarify what we mean when we say, “the law.”

A Change of Government

In this article I want to focus on what I consider to be one of the greatest misconceptions among those who are from a Seventh-day Adventist background.

The Missing Disciple

And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

The book of Galatians

The arguments of Paul in the book of Galatians are very important, and understanding them is critical to a proper appreciation of the purpose and place of the law, as well as to a proper appreciation of the gospel.

Future “Good Things”

It is important to note that the law did not simply represent, “good things,” but it represented good things to come in the future.

Legal Law vs Natural Law

I believe the legal expression of the moral law (the ten commandments) to be a true, but limited expression of the will of God.

Liberated from Legalism

One of the passages which is widely misunderstood and misused, it Romans 7:14-20....

What is Legalism?

What is Legalism? The word “legalism” is most often used in a religious context and it usually refers to somebody who attaches undue importance to minor details in his religious practices.

God has given Christ to us

He has given us the gift of his Son, the greatest gift that Heaven could bestow; and now if you connect with God, if you connect with heaven, you may, in the name and strength of Jesus develop symmetrical characters; characters that are spotless as the pure lily that opens its blossom on the bosom of the lake.

Immediate Righteousness

This concept views the Christian life as a total and immediate change (2 Cor. 5:17; 1 John 3:19), rather than a gradual change which takes place through hard struggles.

What is the Truth?

For most people truth is a statement which expresses things which are not false. It represents an accurate statement of the facts concerning any particular subject.

I will give you rest

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (29) Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. (30) For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Mat 11:28-30)
