21 things happened in AD 31 for the first time

The year AD 31 stands as the greatest turning point in human history. At the cross, resurrection, ascension, and heavenly enthronement of Jesus Christ, heaven and earth were forever changed. What happened in that year was not merely the death of a religious teacher—it was the climax of God’s eternal plan of redemption.

Before AD 31:
• humanity remained under the shadow of death
• the sacrificial system still pointed forward
• the heavenly priesthood had not yet fully begun in Christ
• Satan still claimed authority over the fallen world

But through Christ’s victory, an entirely new era began.

The New Covenant was inaugurated.
The kingdom of grace was established.
The great controversy entered its final phase.
And mankind received hope beyond the grave.

Below are twenty-one monumental realities that became fully realized through Jesus Christ in AD 31.

🌍 1. The Promised Deliverer Arrived

Galatians 4:4 — “But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son…”

For thousands of years humanity waited for the promised Seed foretold in Eden (Genesis 3:15). In Christ, God Himself entered human history to rescue fallen mankind.

The Messiah was no longer merely anticipated—He had come.

🕊️ 2. Jesus Became Qualified to Save Mankind

Hebrews 5:8–9 — “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation…”

Though always divine, Christ became qualified experientially as mankind’s Savior through suffering, obedience, temptation, and victory in human flesh.

He overcame where Adam failed.

❤️ 3. Humanity Was Redeemed

Luke 1:68 — “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people.”
1 Peter 1:18–19 — “Ye were not redeemed with corruptible things… But with the precious blood of Christ…”

At the cross, redemption was accomplished.

Not with silver or gold—
but with the precious blood of Christ.

✨ 4. Jesus Perfected God’s People

Hebrews 10:14 — “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”

The sacrificial system could never fully cleanse the conscience.

But Christ’s sacrifice accomplished what animal sacrifices never could:
a complete and sufficient atonement.

👑 5. Jesus Became Qualified to Be Our High Priest

Hebrews 2:17–18 — “That he might be a merciful and faithful high priest… For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.”

Because Christ truly experienced humanity:
• temptation
• suffering
• weakness
• sorrow

He became the perfect compassionate High Priest.

🏛️ 6. Jesus Became Our High Priest

Hebrews 8:1–2 — “We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne…”
Hebrews 8:6 — “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry…”

After His ascension, Christ began His heavenly priestly ministry.

🌌 7. The Heavenly Sanctuary Ministry Began

Hebrews 9:11–12 — “Christ being come an high priest… entered in once into the holy place… having obtained eternal redemption for us.”

The earthly sanctuary was only a shadow.

In AD 31, Christ entered the true heavenly sanctuary.

🕯️ 8. Jesus Brought Sin to Its Climactic Defeat

Daniel 9:24 — “To finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins…”

At Calvary, sin was exposed and condemned.

Though sin still temporarily exists, its ultimate destruction was secured at the cross.

⚖️ 9. Everlasting Righteousness Was Brought In

Daniel 9:24 — “…to bring in everlasting righteousness…”

Christ established perfect righteousness for humanity.

Believers now stand accepted through His righteousness.

🤝 10. Reconciliation Was Made for Iniquity

Daniel 9:24 — “…to make reconciliation for iniquity…”
Romans 5:10 — “We were reconciled to God by the death of his Son.”

The cross restored peace between God and mankind.

📣 11. Salvation Came to Earth

Revelation 12:10 — “Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God…”

At Christ’s victory, heaven declared salvation had come.

🌱 12. Eternal Life Was Given to God’s People

John 10:27–28 — “I give unto them eternal life…”
1 John 5:11 — “God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”

Immortality and eternal life became available through Christ.

⚰️ 13. The Doors of the Grave Were Opened

1 Corinthians 15:21 — “By man came also the resurrection of the dead.”

Christ’s resurrection guaranteed the future resurrection of believers.

🔑 14. Jesus Obtained the Keys of Death and Hell

Revelation 1:18 — “I have the keys of hell and of death.”

Christ now holds authority over death and the grave.

👨‍⚖️ 15. Jesus Became Lord of the Dead

Romans 14:9 — “Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.”

Every human destiny now rests in Christ’s hands.

👑 16. A Human Being Became Ruler of the Universe

Matthew 28:18 — “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
1 Corinthians 15:25–28 — “For he must reign…”

A glorified human being—Jesus Christ—now rules beside the Father.

Humanity itself was elevated in Christ.

🕊️ 17. The Kingdom of Grace Was Established

Luke 16:16 — “The kingdom of God is preached…”
Revelation 12:10 — “Now is come… the kingdom of our God…”

Through Christ, sinners may now freely enter God’s kingdom through grace.

⚡ 18. The Kingdom of God Came With Power

Mark 9:1 — “Till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.”
Revelation 12:10 — “Now is come… power…”

Christ’s resurrection and Pentecost unleashed heaven’s power upon earth.

🐉 19. Satan Was Permanently Cast Out of Heaven

Revelation 12:9 — “And the great dragon was cast out…”

At the cross, Satan’s character was fully exposed before the universe.

He lost his final standing in heaven.

🔥 20. The Comforter Came to God’s People

John 14:16–18 — “He shall give you another Comforter…”
John 14:21 — “I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

After Christ’s ascension, the Holy Spirit was poured out in fullness at Pentecost.

💪 21. Strength Came to God’s People

Acts 1:8 — “Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…”
Revelation 12:10 — “Now is come… strength…”

Fearful disciples became bold witnesses through the Spirit’s power.

🌟 The Cross Changed Everything

AD 31 changed:
• human history
• human destiny
• heaven’s relationship with earth
• and mankind’s future forever

Because Jesus came:
• death lost its finality
• Satan lost his ultimate claim
• the grave lost its victory
• and humanity gained hope beyond sin and death

The cross was not merely an event in history—
it was the turning point of the universe.

🙏 Conclusion

Every blessing humanity now possesses flows from what Christ accomplished in AD 31.

Because Jesus lived:
• we may live.

Because He died:
• we may be forgiven.

Because He rose:
• we may rise.

Because He ministers in heaven:
• we have continual access to grace.

And because He conquered:
• Satan’s kingdom will ultimately fall forever.

Human history and human experience were permanently transformed by the gift God gave through His Son.

2 Corinthians 9:15 — “Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.”
